Why what we are doing is important

As hearing loss typically occurs gradually, many people don't realize the damaging effects that occur with changes in hearing. India is an ageing country with over 8 per cent of its population over 60 years of age. It is foreseeable that hearing impairment will reach new levels in the coming decades. It has been estimated that around 16 per cent of the Indian population suffers from varying degrees of hearing loss due to genetics, the environment in which they surround themselves, or simply as a result of the aging process. However, only 1-2 per cent have access to hearing healthcare. This is particularly alarming since untreated hearing loss can lead to lower life expectancy, increase in depression, feelings of anxiety, and isolation from family and friends. We do what we do because we believe hearing well is essential to everyone’s quality of life. And we want to work with those individuals who share the same belief – help people enjoy the beauty of sound!
